Teacher
When my last daughter went to school I prayed, “Lord, how do you want me to serve you with my life?” One day when I was looking out the window, the sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day. I started asking God again, “Lord how do you want me to serve you?’ As I prayed I heard God’s voice saying, “I want you to teach in Weekday Religious Ed.” was so excited and very thankful for the answered prayer. However, I knew God would have to open the door for me.
A few weeks later, while working in the First Baptist Church kitchen, Leo Hacker, the President of W.R.E. came and laid some applications on the table. He said, “If you know anyone interested in teaching for WRE have them fill out the application and send it to me,” God had answered my prayer! I filled out the application and was hired as a teacher.
Many years have gone by, and my family has grown from four daughters to 27 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Serving God through teaching in the Morgan County School System has been a huge blessing. I love teaching the Word of God to children. It brings me great joy to see the students grow through prayer, memorizing scripture and singing songs.
Our Community is blessed by having Weekday in Morgan County. My favorite verse is: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
